Meet The Parents

Exciting times!

I finally met Mary’s parents when I went over to her house to pick her up after work. They seemed pretty nice as I expected they would be. For dinner Mary and I stopped at Rock City for an excellent Italian/American dinner. The focacia bread was awesome and my pasta with scallops, snap peas, and juicy pineapple chunks was scrumptious!

We watched two quality videos once we got back to my place. Austin Powers and The Whole Wide World (which Jesse had reccomended to me quite a while ago).

Summer League Update

Another busy basketball night. Once again Team III lost (in their defense they are in a pretty tough league) and Team II squeaked out a one point victory against Shadle Park II after squandering a ten or twelve point lead.

Summer League And Crafts

Tonight was a big night for basketball as Ferris Teams I, II, and III all had games. Team III lost again, Team II played well and won, and I left prior to Team I’s game.

Mary and I spent the evening working on special bead necklaces for all 18 of the children she works with in the mornings. It was fun, but tiring work concentrating on all those little beads.

Starcraft Sunday

Today turned out to be largely uneventful. It was a pretty nice day weather-wise, but I ended up just relaxing mostly. It’s good to do that once in a while.

Admittedly I did play a lot of StarCraft today! I’ve only got a couple levels left now.

ArtFest And Interplayers

Today was an awesome day! Mary came over around noon and we walked over to 4th and Jefferson to catch the shuttle to Artfest over in Brownes Addition. It’s been going on for over ten years, but neither one of us had heard about it prior to seeing info on it in the Inlander this week.

Artfest turned out to be a pretty neat little festival. Definitely an order of magnitude smaller than Bumbershoot, but there was plenty of good artwork, good food, and interesting stuff going on. There was even some live music, specifically blues and country western while we were there, but certainly not limited to that over the course of the weekend.

Artfest wasn’t even the highlight of the day’s fun though. That night we made the short walk from my apartment down to Interplayers to catch their season finale, Moon Over Buffalo. I hadn’t seen a live play in ages and this one was completely hilarious! Mary and I are definitely planning to catch a lot more plays.

Friday Musings

Yeah! The weekend is here.

I’ve got a new (to me) NT Server to play with at work now. I’m going to have to get Frontier up and running on it so that I can start playing with the many dynamic website features like discussion groups.

There seemed to be more bikers out today on my way riding to and from work. I’m guessing that everybody’s starting to feel like it’s warming up enough to do that now. I’m definitely not freezing my ears quite as much in the mornings.

Windows 2000 Professional

I went to a fairly entertaining and informative presentation on Windows 2000 Professional (Microsoft’s replacement for Windows NT 4.0) this morning at the Spokane Convention Center. The rep who presented was knowledgable and entertaining. He even made fun of his company quite a bit.

The Phantom Matrix

Mary and I went to The Matrix tonight. I of course really like it since it was my third time around.

I think we’re going to try to catch The Phantom Menace again fairly soon as well.

Summer League Hoops

Today was the first day of summer league basketball. Team III really impressed me by playing Reardan’s number one team close and only ended up losing 45-46. Team I cruised to a 62-26 point victory against University.
