Site Move

My site was down for a while today while my site host moved. Seems to be working fine now though.

My new Manila hosted site is here.

More FPS Stuff

MacCentral has the latest word on the Unreal Tournament release. I’m leaning towards buying it when it comes out, although there is a lot of other far more useful software that I may decide to spend my money on before then like Fireworks, REALbasic, or Frontier 6.1.

I caught most of the second half of the Colts Dolphins game and enjoyed it quite a bit. You’ve got to love a close football game like this one. I was especially interested in the Colts after reading this cover article on Payton Manning in Sports Illustrated a couple weeks back. Unfortunately it’s not available on line.

It’s a small net world! I discovered not just one, but two nifty Washington State based Internet comics. Ether Life is the creation of Seattle resident Zach Stroum, while Penny Arcade is the product of two talented fellow Spokane-ites who go by the handles Gabriel and Tycho Brahe. Both comics are very computer geek/gaming oriented, so I found them especially amusing and topical given my recent renewed interest in Quake III Arena and Unreal Tournament.

Free Manila Account

Hey, this is super cool! Userland Software is offering two months of Manila use free on their server to people who had Userland accounts prior to 12/01/1999 (this includes me).

Now I have to figure out what kind of weblog I’d like to do. Something more focused than Axodys probably. Hmmmm…

Gonzaga played Cincinnati tough after a poor outing in the first half, but ended up losing 75-68 in Cleveland. Not bad for a game on the road against the number one team in the country.

FPS Time

I’ve been in the mood to play some first person shooters lately and my timing couldn’t be better with the pending releases of Quake 3 Arena and Unreal Tournament.

Gamecenter has a review of Unreal Tournament here.

Admittedly I’ve only played with the Quake 3 Test (the true demo’s supposed to come out any time now), but at this point I prefer Unreal Tournament. We’ll see how I feel after the Quake 3 demo comes out. On the one hand I want to support companies like Id that are doing concurrent development on Mac and PC platforms, but I don’t know if I see myself getting both games. Plus with games like Baldur’s Gate on the horizon there’s just not enough time in the day to play them all.

Manila Is Out

Robert Occhialini of bump.net fame has a new Manila website focusing on gadgets.

I can’t wait to start playing with Manila. Hopefully I can get it approved for work soon.

Zags Hoops

The Gonzaga men’s basketball team has picked up right where they left off last year with a 3-0 start on the young season. I discovered today that Matt Santangelo, the team’s star point guard, has a weekly online journal.

Tonight they play Boise State at home here in Spokane. I’m planning on going.
