Chicken Run

I’m hungry, oh so hungry. I don’t eat meat (other than fish), but tonight I’m going on a Chicken Run.

macsecurity.org

I just discovered www.macsecurity.org today, a site focusing on security for “Apple’s newest BSD-based operating system(s)”. They have a new xinetd tutorial available as well.

Edgar Column

As a Mariners fan I’ve always thought Edgar Martinez was a great hitter, but according to ESPN he’s Better than you may think.

Fireworks

I took a lot of photographs of the Spokane fireworks show this evening with my trusty digital camera and I got decent, but not spectacular results. Next time around I’ll try to bring along some kind of tripod so that I can get steadier shots.

Mac OS Open Source Software Catalog

Excellent! A Mac OS Open Source Software catalog. To date there are 151 titles listed. In my mind, one of the real beauties of MacOS X and it’s Darwin core is that it will be a lot easier to port open source projects from the *nix world. Hopefully the beta will be announced and released at MacWorld New York.

Ricko On The Radio

I used to find local talk radio host Rick Miller, totally obnoxious and annoying, but he kind of grows on you. Now I just think he’s totally obnoxious. So I was a little disappointed to find out that KXLY wasn’t renewing his contract a week or so ago. Turns out he isn’t leaving Spokane afterall as rival station KGA has picked him up. And it even looks like his new slot will make it easier for me to tune in if I choose.

The Environmental Impact Of Coffee Drinking

I had no idea that our rampant caffeine (ab)use could cause this. Does this information mean that you can’t drink coffee if you’re an environmentalist?

New Apple Mouse?

Interesting. Apple Insider has an article on the rumored forthcoming new Apple Mouse. If it turns out to be anything like the 3d images provided it’s going to be pretty distinctive.

Bike Riding Time

I wonder if Terminus will arrive at work tomorrow. Supposedly it was shipped out sometime last week. Work itself should be interesting, as I imagine most people will be in the middle of enjoying their four day Holiday weekend. We don’t officially get the day off though, and since I chose to use one of my vacation days on Friday I’ll actually be going into work.

At this point it looks like tomorrow is going to be my first bike ride into work of the summer. Since my tabs are expired and the licensing places will be closed for the next two days, driving my car around means risking a ticket. That wouldn’t be a problem accept for the weather forecast which is pointing towards some rain.

M’s 11 Rangers 4

Mariners 11 Texas 4. That win pushes the M’s lead over Oakland up to one and a half games.
