Bumbershoot Weekend

It’s time for some Bumbershoot action.

Survivorblog

SURVIVORblog - outwit, outlast, outwrite. “_10 webloggers, 10 weeks, 1 person voted out each week. The winner gets a $75 Amazon.com gift certificate…_” Nifty.

IQ Test

How smart are you? I managed a 153, although I took longer than twenty minutes.

Wax On Wax Off

They seem to be waxing or sanding the hardwood floors in the apartment directly beneath me two floors down. It’s not super loud, but I can hear it quiet clearly and it’s slightly annoying. Guess I should see if I can drown it out with some music or the Seahawks game.

I’ve been fairly busy lately because I’ve been working on a web related side project. When it’s closer to being ready for primetime I’ll elaborate.

Hard Drive, DeepLeap

The new drive seems to be cruising right along. I’ve got it partitioned up into four 4GB HFS+ drives, an 120MB soon to be Linux swap partition, and the remainder for the LinuxPPC installation. Of course, with just a couple more weeks until MacOS X beta arrives on the scene I may not get a whole lot of use out of it. We’ll see how it goes

I found out today that internet startup company DeepLeap has folded. Even though I hadn’t used their service that much, I was sorry to hear that they’re closing up shop. I have a lot of admiration for people like the DeepLeap crew and the folks at Pyra. One thing I will say, I really like the approach Pyra is taking in regard to building their company. By that I mean that while they have a cool product in Blogger, they’re working with companies on a variety of other stuff simultaneously.

New Hard Drive

My new 2.5″ laptop hard drive arrived today and thankfully the installation went without a hitch. Well, that’s not completely true. I was a bit stumped temporarily when I couldn’t find the set of torx screwdriver heads that I needed to remove the original hard drive from the mounting bracket. Luckily the Leatherman Micra that my father gave me for Christmas last year has a tool that was the right size to get the screws out. _Thanks Dad!_

New Osil8 Episode

Only a year or so in the making: a new osil8 episode!

Go East Young Man

My friend Jesse began his long road trip east to New Jersey this morning. He’s headed to Jersey City where he’ll be teaching high school English as part of the Teach for America program. I was originally planning to accompany him on his trip, but with work being as hectic as it is right now I just couldn’t get away. It was great to hang out with him last night though.

Lunch Musings

It’s always nice when Taco Time gets your Veggie Burrito right. Last time I went by their nearest they slipped me a meat burrito when I wasn’t looking. I was moderately annoyed at the time, but I salvaged what I could and moved on to my mexi-fries (little Mexican flavored potato cylinders). Today’s meal was much less eventful.

Last night for the first time ever I watched 90% of a Survivor episode. I missed the big scuffle between the ladies because I was adjusting the antenna (sorry Mary), but rest of the show was still entertaining enough to keep me watching. And yes, I’m planning on tuning in for the final episode. Even though I haven’t been tuning in regularly, I know (and have been talking to) enough people that have been watching that I didn’t have any problems jumping right in.

Lunch

It’s lunchtime!
