Mariners win 4-3 over White Sox Better yet Ichiro got his 20th consecutive game with a hit.
Looks like it’s going to be a windy night.

It’s been raining all morning. Very nice.
This is just one of the reasons that I decided to go with Greymatter over Blogger. Some of the others would be greater flexibility, more functionality, and more control. I don’t think Evan has to worry about losing all his users yet though.
Filemaker 5.5 is out. And better still, it’s carbonized.
This is a very strange time for me. Death seems a little more real and present than it ever has for me before.

Harry Knowles impressions of the new Lord of the Rings footage. I was pretty psyched prior to reading the various impressions of the footage submitted to AICN, now I’m really excited about the coming movies.
I found out first thing this morning that Douglas Adams, the author of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy died yesterday at the age of 49. Not only was he a very humorous writer, but he was also a big Macintosh fan and I’m sorry to hear that he has passed on.
Maccentral offers additional thoughts: “I’ve been a Macintosh user for as long as there have been Macintoshes, right from the very first one,” Adams said to Apple. “It was elegantly thought out, intuitive, and it was such a pleasure to use that you wanted to hug it. It was also ludicrously slow and underpowered, of course, but that was a small price, as Butch Cassidy said in the movie, to pay for beauty.”
Metafilter has some good comments on DNA once you get past some of the inflamatory stuff near the top.
What do you know? Userland introduces the beta of Frontier for OS X. That is very cool. It’s only available to current license holders, but that makes sense given that Frontier is a commercial product. Hopefully Radio Userland will soon follow so everyone else can get a taste.
Daniel Berlinger, one of the early testers of Frontier for OS X offers his thoughts on the new release.
I was wondering about the status of Frontier/Radio Userland on MacOS X. Looks like they’re still working on it. Cute new icon.
Speaking of which I’ve pretty much given up on Radio Userland for the time being because I’m running MacOS X the majority of the time these days and it just doesn’t work as well.
Each to our own corner of the Internet. “MacNN is pleased to announce that it has joined the NewsFactor Network, one of the Internet’s most highly respected sources of technology and e-commerce news.” Until today I had never heard of the NewsFactor Network and I’ve been using the Internet in one form or another since 1991. Just another reminder that there’s a lot of good stuff (big and small) out there just waiting to be discovered.
It’s a pretty gorgeous looking day today. Hopefully it will continue over the weekend so that Mary and I can do some bike riding. I’m also looking forward to making another little movie in iMovie so perhaps I will bring along the MiniDV camera and combine the two. Additionally, I’m curious about iMovie’s ability to create slides shows using still images as well.
It was nice to see (or hear on the radio as in my case) the M’s get back to their winning ways tonight against Boston. It got a little brutal with all the hit batters, but the eighth inning offensive explosion was a thing of beauty.
Thanks to a couple configuration issues I created a nice double post of the last entry before getting everything working. No need for that.
