Uh oh. I just found out that Apple has issued a Recall for PowerBook G3 Power Adapters that shipped from May 1998 until March 2000:
According to Apple, The AC adapters could overheat, posing a fire hazard. Apple received six reports of these adapters overheating, but no injuries have been reported.
Looks like I’ll be getting a new adaptor at home and at work since both power supplies I’m using fall between the two shipping dates. I imagine I’ll be receiving one of the new yo-yo styles they’ve been shipping lately; I don’t really care as long as it keeps working as well as the current model has for me.
