Lots of cool free fonts over at Blambot Comic Lettering. Interesting stuff if you’re a web comic creator or a font fanatic.

I’ve always thought it would be cool to do a web comic of some sort, guess I’ll file this away if I ever decided to tackle that project.

Mary and I finally wrangled up most of the remaining garbage and yard waste in our backyard yesterday and hauled it up to the north side waste transfer center. Aside from the multiple cross town trips that hauling two loads entailed, the task was relatively painless. Well, aside from the pectoral muscle soreness I developed after having a little bit too much fun seeing how far I could throw some of our garbage once we got there.

Puppy countdown: 2 days!

The new year didn’t get off to a good start today. I found out first thing this morning that my grandpa (my mom’s dad) died last night, distractedly watched my jv basketball team have a crummy practice, and then came home only to watch the Cougars get crushed by Oklahoma in the Rose Bowl.

It actually wasn’t a completely bad day though. Mary and I had a nice visit with my other grandparents prior to the Rose Bowl and then came home to eat lunch and watch the game with my mom and sister.

I was definitely sad and somewhat surprised to hear about my grandpa’s passing this morning; on the other hand he enjoyed a long and succesful life and left me with many great memories. I’m really going to miss the holiday dinners he cooked and the huge batches of fresh rolls he baked so often.

It only took me about three minutes longer than it should have to figure out what Michal was getting at. Heh.

In other news: no resolutions yet.

2003 is pretty uneventful so far. Time to go to bed.
