Monthly Archives: January 2003

The last week has definitely taken its toll so I’m not really surprised that I’ve developed a sore throat and runny nose, but I don’t have to like it. Thank goodness for three day weekends! Now if I can just make some progress on some work-related projects I can actually enjoy it.

Things to look forward to:

  • Rest
  • Spending quality time with Mary and Gitte.

When the 800Mhz 12.1″ iBook came out I was pretty sure I wanted that to be my next computer. After yesterday’s MacWorld announcements I’m really quite happy that I didn’t rush out and pick one up a few months back.

The new 12.1″ PowerBook announced yesterday not only has basically the same form factor (with an aluminum case), but it also has an 867Mhz G4 processor and can be purchased with a slot loading DVD-burning SuperDrive! Must. Control. Wallet.

On a related note check out the coolest ad* that Apple has come out with in quite a while!

The domain seems to be working fine again, but it was down yesterday because I forgot to renew my registration. Of course I discovered this yesterday while trying to go there using Apple’s new Safari web browser.

There’s definitely a lot to like about Apple’s new browser, but as a regular Chimera user I really prefer a browser that supports tabs. Hopefully that’s on Apple’s list of things to add. Speed-wise Safari seems quite snappy and I think it’s very cool that Apple built on and improved the KHTML engine behind the open source Konqueror browser.
