I’m in the process of finishing up a reimport of the old blog back into a fresh WordPress 3.3 install. Unfortunately something seems to be going awry with the last couple year’s worth of posts. Rather than banging my head against the issue further I think the prudent course is to set it aside, get some sleep, and revisit it later today. More later.

Chrome didn’t pull up the Apple Keynote so I switched to Safari and it just worked. The quality is unbelievable.

No spoilers other than things get crazy at about the 2:40 mark! Awesome work by the team that constructed this. Very, very impressive and one of the coolest Lego projects I have ever seen.

Alien Action Figure

I wasn’t even aware of the Alien movie when it came out in 1979 (being 5 or 6 years old at the time), but I distinctly remember seeing this action figure in a store in Moses Lake, WA (the mid-sized town I lived in until fifth grade). In retrospect it’s pretty hilarious that Kenner would market a toy based on an R rate movie to kids, but it’s a great collectors item now. In fact, it looks like they’re going for a couple hundred on ebay these days.
