Pirates Of Silicon Valley

Monday, June 21st, 1999

Ferris II beat G-Prep II by about 20 tonight and I assume that Team I beat Medical Lake (they were playing at the same time).

My mom finally got to meet Mary this evening when we went out to pick up the tape my parents made of Pirates of Silicon Valley.

Pirates was pretty good I thought, although it definitely over dramatized some characters and was factually incorrect in some ways. Still I think it did a good job of capturing the essence of the times and people.

Summer League Update

Wednesday, June 16th, 1999

Ironically, with Mary gone this week I ended up only having one day of basketball games and that day was today.

I spent the first game videotaping Team I playing G-Prep. They didn’t play all that great and lost, although Erik Benzel was awesome! He scored 25 points single handedly on shots he mostly created for himself.

In the second game of the night Team II handled Davenport pretty easily and won by about 20.

More Hoops

Friday, February 26th, 1999

Last night Ferris came away with a 40-30 victory in a defensive battle against Gonzaga Prep.

Lewis & Clark beat up Central Valley in a surprising 55-36 upset.

Rubber Chicken III commences at 9pm tonight in the Spokane Arena.

Design Tweaks

Thursday, February 25th, 1999

I’ve started fiddling with the sidebar and I’m running up against the ever so annoying browser implementation differences. IE 4.5 for the Mac doesn’t recognize the fact that I’m overriding the sidebar link color (it should be white, not blue), while Netscape Navigator 4.07 gets that part right, but munges the sides of my nested table. As Dave Winer always says Still diggin’!

Found a fix for things.

Tonight at 5:30pm Ferris plays G-Prep in the Spokane Arena.

Scouting Hoops

Tuesday, February 23rd, 1999

It looks like I’m going to be taking over the GU School of Education’s web site.

Tonight was the first round of the district playoffs. The Ferris boys had a bye tonight since we finished second in league so my dad and I went and scouted the Gonzaga Prep vs. Shadle Park game. It was tied at the half, but Prep pulled away and won 62-52. They will be our opponent on Thursday.

Hoops Update

Wednesday, February 17th, 1999

The Ferris boys teams won both their games against Mead yesterday.

My neighbors at Lewis & Clark HS beat G-Prep yesterday in what had to be the most brutal game I’ve seen this season. LC will be our final opponent of the regular season on Thursday.

I’m doing surprisingly well considering how small my total sleep time has been in the last 24 hours. I guess I don’t need as much sleep as some people like my buddy Nichole.

On a visit to Everything today I discovered a mathematical explanation for the story of my life.

Ferris Wins And Other Stuff

Saturday, February 13th, 1999

Both Ferris boys basketball teams won yesterday. Central Valley beat G-Prep 55-43 to avenge their lone loss of the season.

I’m headed for Seattle this afternoon, but I anticipate being able to update everything from afar.

Everybody should begin their day with a dose of Sluggy Freelance. Pete Abrams is a genius!

N C Rematch

Friday, February 12th, 1999

Today the Ferris JV boys team plays NC at 5:15. This is a big game for the JV team since NC has one of the best JV teams in league. The boys varsity game will follow at 6:45.

The BIG game of the night is of course the rematch between CV and Gonzaga Prep out at SFCC.

Today’s Roundball Update

Thursday, February 4th, 1999

The Ferris JV team started the day off right by beating North Central by about 25. The Ferris varsity team topped that with a 35 point win over NC.

G-Prep did one better by beating Central Valley 51-50 to hand them their first loss of the season.

Hoops Update

Wednesday, February 3rd, 1999

Yesterday’s basketball game: Ferris 58, Rogers 44

Yesterday’s big upset: Shadle Park 55, Gonzaga Prep 54

That puts Ferris all alone in second place behind Central Valley.

I picked up my family’s new iMac today!
