Thursday Update

Thursday, June 24th, 1999

I helped Ann Hutton get her new grape iMac up and running. I definitely liked the purple case.

Mary came over and hung out for a while tonight. I introduced her to StarCraft, but unfortunately I couldn’t get Conan working properly on the Apple II emulator I’ve been playing with. That was annoying.

Starcraft Sunday

Sunday, June 6th, 1999

Today turned out to be largely uneventful. It was a pretty nice day weather-wise, but I ended up just relaxing mostly. It’s good to do that once in a while.

Admittedly I did play a lot of StarCraft today! I’ve only got a couple levels left now.

Weekend Gaming

Sunday, May 30th, 1999

I got in a fair amount of computer gaming this weekend which was pretty fun. I actually finally advanced to the Protoss levels and beat the first couple of those.
We had four of our Macs networked together out at the lake, but we never actually got around to networked StarCraft. We did get in some serious Marathon action though.

Mary made it home safely last night, now we just have to figure out what we’re going to do tomorrow.

StarCraft

Monday, May 17th, 1999

I played some StarCraft for the first time in a couple weeks and I actually made some serious progress on the level I was stuck on. That definitely left me with a good feeling because I had felt somewhat frustrated up to this point.

Sunday Shopping

Sunday, April 18th, 1999

Today I took a little trip to the local CompUSA and picked up a few items. I now have a 25 pack of recordable CD’s, a new USB mouse with two buttons and a scroll wheel, and a cool book about color on the web.

I finally beat the pesky level in StarCraft that I was stuck on thanks to a helpful tidbit from a StarCraft strategy guide. The next level has a good plot twist as well!

I went to the Trek website to look at bicycles. I like the looks of the 7300 and 7500 hybrid models.

I successfully burned my first cdr last night and then I optimized my hard drive. Now I need to try my hand at music cds.

Sleepy Sunday

Sunday, April 11th, 1999

I was supposed to have lunch with my family at my grandparents, but unfortunately my grandpa had stomach flu and we had to cancel our plans. I hope he’s feeling better.

I ended up spending my day working on my apartment some more, napping, reading various people’s online journals, and of course playing StarCraft.

Starcraft Progress

Friday, April 9th, 1999

I successfully completed all the Human levels on Starcraft last night. Now I get to try my hand at being a Zerg. As Steve says, It’s a whole new paradigm.

Multiplayer Starcraft

Friday, April 2nd, 1999

Steve is in town for the weekend so we tried our hand at multiplayer StarCraft this evening with mixed results. Basically the computer would either completely gang up on us or be really whimpy.

Steve’s dad had a multibutton mouse, and I think I may have to pick up a multi-button usb mouse tomorrow because they’re definitely handy.

Starcraft

Thursday, April 1st, 1999

Anyone notice how my site has been neglected since Tuesday? Blame StarCraft. The mac version finally came out and I’ve been playing it a lot.
