I finally installed Darwin 1.02 on a spare partition for fun and enlightenment (a remarkably easy process actually), but I don’t know if I’ll be able to do anything particularly useful with it without a fair amount of effort. Considering the MacOS X beta should (hopefully) be out around the end of July when Mac World New York rolls around there may not be a whole lot of point. There don’t seem to be a whole lot of binaries available for Darwin at the moment and the rumored X Windows port seems fairly mythical as well. I’ve tracked down a few references in mailing lists and in Apple’s Darwin site , but no binaries (or source for the matter).
