Humble Bundle is having a huge sale on games and software from the company that makes RPGMaker so I picked up versions 2K3 and XP for $11 combined.
Today I learned that there are two anime versions of Fullmetal Alchemist, the original eponymous version that launched before the manga source material was complete and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood the version that came later and sticks to the original storyline.

Looks like my supposition was probably right, just saw a firmware update progress bar during the High Sierra install process after reformatting to HFS+ beforehand.
So the APFS volume seems to be fine, but it can’t be set as a startup disc.
Meanwhile left the High Sierra USB stick at home so creating a new one.
