Mind blown: After knowing of Portlandia and Sleater-Kinney for years, but never directing very much attention to the show and a little more to the band (listening, not watching), only today realized that Carrie Brownstein is a major part of both endeavors.

Avista is proposing a new park along the Spokane River north of Mission. The plan would close Upriver Drive between Mission and Center and provide Spokane River access in an area that is currently inaccessible. This is a great idea and I am 100% for it.

Chelsea’s sloppiness with possession is driving me crazy, but entertaining back and forth game. Having Harry Maguire on the backline makes Manchester United strangely likable considering my usual antipathy towards the storied club.

Looks like Christian Pulisic is going to be coming off the bench today vs. Man United. Very curious to see when Lampard opts to bring him in if he’s going to today.

Great 3-1 second half comeback for Tottenham vs. Aston Villa today!
Pretty cool to see that NBC Sports is putting up extended match highlights on YouTube now.

20 years later it’s crazy to me that so many people in the early to mid-90s thought a Lincoln Street Bridge over Spokane Falls was a good idea. So glad everyone came to their senses.

It’s been a weird week for Lime scooters in Spokane. They’ve been downsizing hubs, usage appears down because of the heat/bad air quality, and based on the number of single scooters left out overnight I feel like operations is really dropping the ball.

Air quality in Spokane quite a bit better than up where I live in the Mead area. Between the heat and bad air decided not to even attempt to ride my bike home today.

Just learned that Linux Journal shut down yesterday. I’ve never subscribed, but read a fair amount of articles and single issues over the years. Sad to see another quality publication succumb to the stark economics of print media in 2019.

The local Patchwork/SSB powered family social network is underway. The software works well, but it’s going to be interesting to see how easy it is to get my family up to speed with working with Markdown and the less user friendly aspects of the system.
